Erith Coal Mine (1860-1915) is a 2 km walk from Gambell's Lookout accessed from the Bundanoon entry to the park. The coal mined was of poor quality and used only for goods engines. The coal seam was only 1 metre thick and went in for kilometres. The coal was hoisted out on cables. Below the mine railing is a lovely pool and stream.
