A large group of people gather in Mackay for Commonwealth Day Celebrations, 1901. Detachments of the Mackay Light Horse Regiment are on parade. The tree in the centre of the image was planted by Miss Black for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in June 1897. This tree is now relocated in Queen's Park. [Description supplied with photograph]. Businesses, including Marsh & Webster's Store, appear in the background.
