Canungra School of Arts building, 1908

The first school of Arts was erected in 1886 by Loius Howells on the western side of Canungra Creek (above Canungra Crossing) was also used as a school and known as Upper Coomera. In 1897 this building was re-erected near its present site, Pine Creek road and school recommenced until a new school building in ca. 1900 was erected in Finch Street. Canungra Mill is in the background, on the right. (Description supplied with photograph.)
