View of Ann Street in Brisbane. Horsedrawn carriages and pedestrians are passing by the Central Railway Station. The clock tower over the station's entrance can be seen on the left side of the street. The Wickham Terrace Presbyterian Church stands in the distance behind the railway station, while the bell tower of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church is visible, in the right-hand distance, on the corner of Creek and Ann Streets.
The building that forms the entrance to the Central Railway station was constructed in 1901 with sandstone facings from Helidon, pink stone from Pearson's quarry and white stone from Phippard's quarry. The clock was designed and built by Synchronome Pty. Ltd., Brisbane (Information taken from: Votes and proceedings of the Legislative Assembly of the Queensland Parliament, 1 February, 1901).
