Rebuilt steel portion to 15 ton axle load and the timber portion strengthened to 12 ton axle load. A considerable extent of high timbering trestle at the Gympie end has been cut out and concrete piers and steel girders substituted. The new girders were erected outside the original bridge without interference to traffic. Note that the new girders are of the Pratt type designed to carry a greater load.
