The vehicular ferry probably the Koondooloo. The Sydney Harbour show boat passenger ferry "Sydney Queen", and the vehicular ferries "Koondooloo " and "Lurgurena" were blown ashore by strong winds in Trial Bay South West Rocks in January 1972 They with another vehicular ferry "Kooroongaba" which was also lost, were being towed to the Philippines for scrapping. The vehicle ferries had operated across the Hunter River between Newcastle and Stockton until 1971 when the then new Stockton Bridge was opened.
