The faulty bogies from diesel electric locomotive NSU55.
Diesel electric locomotive NSU62 can be seen in the distance, at after giving up its bogies to NSU55. NSU55 was one of the two locomotives (the other was NSU56) being used by the contractors to pull up the Oodnadatta to Marree section of the old Central Australia Railway, the bogies of which had become unserviceable late in 1982. NSU62 had remained in Marree after the closure of the railway.
