Ben Boyd hoped to establish a sea port and town on Two Fold Bay (then known as Double Bay) for his cattle and grain empire in 1843. It didn't eventuate but the Seahorse Inn is still operating and the ruins of a whale watch tower and this church he built but never finished show his high hopes.
