You'll find Johnstons Hut just off the Bogong High Plains Road high up in the mountains in east Victoria. Nearby mountains include Basalt Hill (1672m), Marm Point (1805m), Hollonds Knob (1801m), Mount Nelse (1875m), Mount Nelse North (1881m), Mount Cope (1823m), Mount McKay (1833m) and Spion Kopje (1834m). Johnstons Hut is about 230km east-northeast of Melbourne (show me). At about 1599m above sea level, Johnstons Hut is the second highest hut in Victoria. The nearest sea is the Tasman Sea which is part of the South Pacific Ocean about 120km south-southeast of Johnstons Hut.
