The district is famous for having the oldest existing church in Australia, having been built in 1809. It is in the Parish of Ebenezer Pitt Town.

It was the first Presbyterian Church in Australia and is now part of the Uniting Church in Australia. The church has remained open since its beginning. The porch was added in 1929.

Inside, the church has maintained its original setting and furnishings, except that the once high pulpit has been lowered.

The Vestry, added in 1966, is built of the same sandstone and is joined to the church by a covered walkway. This provides an ideal photo setting for the many weddings celebrated here.
